Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of TalkType’s iOS keyboard, Android app, and website at talktype.online (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old (or the age of digital consent in your country) to use TalkType. By using the Service you represent that you meet this requirement.

2. Your account

• You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure.
• You are responsible for activity that happens through your account.
• You must notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorised use.

3. Subscriptions and payment

3.1 In-app purchases (iOS)

Subscriptions purchased on iOS are billed through your Apple ID. Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage and cancel subscriptions in Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions on your Apple device.

3.2 Web payments

Subscriptions purchased on the website are processed by Stripe. The same auto-renewal and cancellation principles apply. You can manage your web subscription from your account dashboard.

3.3 Refunds

Refunds for iOS in-app purchases are handled by Apple in accordance with their terms. For web subscriptions, contact contact@arenorg.com. EU consumers’ statutory rights are not affected.

3.4 Price changes

We may change prices for new billing periods. Material changes will be announced in advance and will take effect on your next renewal.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Break the law, infringe intellectual property, or harass others.
• Submit content that is unlawful, defamatory, or contains malware.
• Attempt to access other users’ accounts or our backend without authorisation.
• Reverse-engineer, scrape, or stress-test the Service in ways that disrupt it.
• Resell or redistribute the Service except as expressly permitted.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules, with or without notice depending on severity.

5. Your content

You retain ownership of the audio you record and the text you transform. You grant us a limited licence to process that content solely to provide the Service to you (e.g. sending audio to our transcription provider). We do not use your content to train AI models. 6. Service availability

We aim to keep the Service available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted operation. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. Where reasonable, we will give advance notice of material changes that affect paying users.

7. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties — express or implied — including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy of transcriptions, and non-infringement. Transcription and AI features may produce errors; you are responsible for reviewing output before relying on it.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, TalkType’s total aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) EUR 50. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including lost profits or lost data. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

9. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time and delete your account from Account → Delete Account in the app, or via /account-deletion. Active subscriptions continue until the end of the paid period. We may terminate or suspend access if you breach these Terms or use the Service in a way that creates risk for us or other users.

10. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Norway, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved by the ordinary courts of Norway. EU/EEA consumers retain the right to bring claims in the courts of their country of residence under applicable consumer-protection law.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms occasionally. Material changes will be announced in-app and/or by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service means you accept the updated Terms.
